Who should we trust on Healthcare?

The question has not been asked.

Should we trust Republicans to make good decisions?
Should we trust Democrats?

Romney and Obama passed the same law... which one of them should we trust?

Well - here is a map of childhood obesity rates.
http://hive.slate.com/hive/time-to-trim/article/which-states-have-the-most-obese-children
Maps are available showing the rates of most ailments.

I find health is usually worse in Republican states.

Using my judgement says... we should probably trust Democrats more on health... state by state... they seem to be having healthier citizens.

Post talking points society

How could we end the talking points?

Well - the approach of trying to oppose them head-to-head is not working.

It escalates into an argument.

What if we just said.  Oh - I read the talking points memo today too!

We're all supposed to say - X did this.  Y did this... point fingers and say them in very concise phrases all together so that everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

Go ahead - I read the talking points memo that was released... but, I'd love to hear your personal best delivery of them.  Someone had faith in your abilities when they sent you out here!

Aka - to stop talking points - call them out - offer to deliver them for people.  And then if they say them say it back - oh there's a talking point - you'll see people on every network saying the same thing today.

Now - what do you actually believe because the facts show X  - Y - Z... so maybe everyone walking around with today's talking points is simply lying.

Poor Reporting on Jobs Numbers Leads to Market Crash

Reality check:  While the number of new jobs added was lower in March than expected, there was a massive drop in those underemployed.  The underemployed either work at a job below their level of training, or work part time and wish to work full time.

120,000 new jobs added when 200,000 was expected.

But, there was a drop of 447,000 from the position of being underemployed.
The sixth-biggest monthly drop on record.

Aka.  More people who were working part time either got more hours and now work full time, or got a better job that uses their skills fully.

So - if looking at one number - it doesn't look phenomenal.

If looking at the entire report I see conditions where the slack in the labor force took a massive leap in the right direction this month.

One criticism of this recovery has been that too many jobs added are low paying jobs.

Well, a reduction in the underemployment is people moving towards better paying jobs that use their skills.

We took a leap in the right direction and somehow people called it failure.

Gas Prices: Why not shift to US made natural gas?

Reality Check:  Converting cars to natural gas should be inexpensive and easy.

I found a story on this that may point to a solution.

Here is a quote.

“For an individual (or shop) to be licensed to do a conversion, the person must pay $10,000 per year, per engine type, per year of manufacture. So that if a conversion shop wanted to do conversions in 2009 for Camrys for the years 1995 to 2005, the shop owner would have to pay the government $100,000 in licensing fees. “
“Then, if he wanted to do conversions on the same models in 2010, he would have to pay the $100,000 again, even though they are the exact same models and engines that he has been licensed on already. And if there is more than one engine involved, i.e., a 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder, the cost would double.”
“Therefore, if a shop owner wanted to do 10 model years of Camrys and Corollas and Celicas, and well as Honda Accords and Civics, unless there were common engines being used in these five models the licensing cost (for just one engine per) would be a half million dollars, which would have to be paid again in 2010.

Here is the article I found on this.

This seems to be the website of the organization that revealed the research.

I did call the White House today and received an immediate answer on the phone.
The woman recorded everything that I found.

I stated that this had the smell of Oil Company lobbyists all over it.  If this fact was true and Obama fixed it, it would change the nature of automobile energy usage in this country.  On gas prices he would then have the winning argument hands down.

She handed it to their energy team.  She stated they will research what the regulation is and if they find this report to be true - it will be on the President's desk this afternoon.

Here is how to call the White House.

The phone did not even get through a full ring before it was answered.

Ps.  If I see things start to happen with this issue.  I will be adding to this article :)
When I have spoken to congressmen in the past - I have seen things move.

Further research:
Here is the EPA page on Alternative Fuel Conversion:

Here is an EPA act that touches on related issues - under the Obama administration.

Here is a little bit about conversion kits and more...

Here is another article that makes a similar claim and uses the same information regarding EPA costs for auto shops to be able to convert to natural gas.

Another Social Psychologist Speaks

You see me posting all these articles, but here is another social-psychologist who is putting a book out.

His book is to focus on ideas about how people can fight for power while dialing back the lying elements and divisive elements of today.

"Politicians are not concerned with the truth - they are concerned with rallying the team."

I have been working to bring out truth as I see it.

Here is a short video on CNN with an interview of the author.
